## What counts as an on-chain prop firm

An on-chain prop firm runs its payouts and evaluations through public blockchain infrastructure, so its activity can be checked independently. To appear in our on-chain table, a firm must: pay traders in stablecoins on a public blockchain; pay from contracts or wallets it has published or confirmed; and run its payouts or evaluations through smart contracts or a decentralised network, not only a company database. Crypto prop firms that simply pay in USDC from a company wallet can still appear in our main table, but aren’t listed as on-chain firms.

## How pass rate is worked out

Pass rate = evaluations passed ÷ evaluations finished (passed or failed). It isn’t Funded ÷ Started, for two reasons: Started includes evaluations still running, which haven’t passed or failed yet. Counting them would make every pass rate look lower than it is. Accounts funded in a period mostly come from evaluations started earlier, so the two columns describe different groups of traders. FundedHive’s contracts record funded accounts but not failed evaluations, so its pass rate divides accounts funded by evaluations started 27 days earlier, the typical time to pass.
